Back Warsaw Concert | 81st Anniversary of the Outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising

Warsaw Concert | 81st Anniversary of the Outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising

On August 2nd, we will commemorate an event of profound importance to us – the Warsaw Uprising. This year marks the 81st anniversary of the Uprising and the 80th anniversary of the beginning of Warsaw’s reconstruction.
Many of us are aware of the enormous sacrifice made by our fellow citizens. The Warsaw Concert will honor their struggles and bravery through something that has always united people – music.
During the concert, we will hear songs referencing both the Warsaw Uprising and the city’s rebuilding. Warszawskie Combo Taneczne will perform – a band whose work draws from the proud and rich tradition of Warsaw’s pre-war street orchestras. Before World War II, these ensembles were a vital part of the city’s spirit; during the occupation, they offered hope, and after the war, they became carriers of memory, identity, and emotion. Founded by Jan Emil Młynarski, the band has not only preserved dozens of songs from being forgotten, but also reintroduced them into Polish popular culture, giving them a unique, original sound. In 2025, Warszawskie Combo Taneczne celebrates its 15th anniversary with a new album titled Pamiętam Twoje oczy (I Remember Your Eyes, out August 1st) and a series of special anniversary concerts.
