Renowned Restaurateur Mateusz Gessler Extends Lease Agreements for ĆMA and Warszawski Sen at Hala Koszyki for Another 5 Years!
Mateusz Gessler, the acclaimed restaurateur, has decided to extend the lease agreements for his restaurants, ĆMA and Warszawski Sen, at Hala Koszyki in Warsaw for another 5 years. Both restaurants have been a part of Hala Koszyki since its opening, and last weekend, they celebrated their 8th anniversary together.
Hala Koszyki, the first Polish food hall, has been a gastronomic magnet for Warsaw residents and tourists for eight years, attracting crowds of culinary enthusiasts, lovers of refined interiors, and inspiring meetings. Since its inception, the signature restaurants of Mateusz Gessler have become symbols of the gastronomic history of this exceptional place, reshaping the contemporary landscape of Warsaw’s culinary scene. After eight years of successful collaboration, the lease agreements for ĆMA and Warszawski Sen, co-managed by Łukasz Henryk Sagan and Joel Birman, have been extended for another 5 years.
“Hala Koszyki is a place that constantly evolves. I am glad that from the very beginning, I’ve been part of this unique, pioneering project that has forever changed the face of culinary Warsaw. We work with the same passion as on the first day, always coming up with new ideas to surprise our guests and make their time spent in our restaurants more enjoyable,” says Mateusz Gessler, owner of ĆMA and Warszawski Sen.
Especially ĆMA, which is open 24 hours a day, is a unique spot on the map of the capital, inspired by modern urban cuisine. The interiors of ĆMA will soon be refreshed and modernized to meet the functional, aesthetic, and technological expectations of the demanding Generation Z customers. The intimate restaurant, born out of a passion for traditional Polish cuisine, quickly became a popular meeting place where experiencing culinary art together sparks conversation.
“Thanks to his signature restaurants ĆMA and Warszawski Sen, Mateusz Gessler is a co-author of Hala Koszyki’s success. With virtuosity, he creates a unique atmosphere in these locations, harmoniously blending with the local character, ambiance, and history of the place. Hala Koszyki and Mateusz Gessler’s restaurants share a similar approach to thinking about a gastronomic destination as a unique space for meetings and experiences, both culinary and artistic, as well as social. Together, we also uphold shared values: locality, seasonality, blending history and tradition with the dynamic rhythm of the city, and celebrating the moment,” says Weronika Maria Kuna, MRICS, Asset Management and Leasing Manager at Hala Koszyki, Globalworth.
Over the past eight years, Hala Koszyki has received numerous prestigious awards. In recent weeks, the iconic venue reached the finals of the Food Business Awards 2024, confirming its role and significance in the Polish gastronomic and retail markets. Hala Koszyki was also awarded the Superbrands Award for the second time. This distinction reflects the stable position and trust that customers place in this venue.
Additionally, Hala Koszyki is known for its rich event calendar, which further enhances its attractiveness as a meeting and inspiration hub, while building a strong and diverse local community. In recent months, numerous culinary events, concerts, and thematic gatherings have taken place here, attracting crowds of guests and creating a unique atmosphere and unforgettable memories.
Hala Koszyki was built over 100 years ago on Koszykowa Street in Warsaw, on the grounds of the former Koszyki farm. Designed in the Art Nouveau style by architect Juliusz Dzierżanowski, it returned to the city map in the fall of 2016 as a unique social and culinary spot, where visitors can dine at various restaurants and bars or purchase food products for home. The complex includes 16,000 sqm of office space and 6,500 sqm of retail space. Hala Koszyki is owned and managed by Globalworth. More information is available at www.koszyki.com.
