Katarzyna Błońska and Tomasz Czudowski will welcome their first guests to a new restaurant set to open in the iconic Warsaw “Koszyki” in mid-2025.

A well-known pair of restaurateurs, creators of the popular venue alewino, have been captivated by the unique charm of Hala Koszyki. Katarzyna Błońska and Tomasz Czudowski will welcome their first guests to a new restaurant set to open in the iconic Warsaw “Koszyki” in mid-2025.

Hala Koszyki, Poland’s first food hall, known for its exceptional atmosphere and diverse culinary offering, has created an entirely new space where the restaurant will soon be launched. Kasia and Tomek, the Warsaw-based culinary duo behind the iconic alewino as well as restaurants Muzealna, Cafe Pląs, and Cafe Podrygi, co-creators of the Kukułka pastry shop network and co-initiators of intergenerational Warsaw dance parties—where hospitality meets experience and delicious food—are bringing their latest concept to Hala Koszyki. The signature restaurant will serve seasonal dishes based on top-quality ingredients, drawing inspiration from cuisines from around the world. The menu will be complemented by a rich selection of wines and spirits, as well as an extensive range of low- and non-alcoholic beverages.

“We’ve been looking for a place in Śródmieście Południowe, which has been our home for 25 years and where we feel most at ease. A place that would suit us and our concept. That’s why we gladly accepted Ms. Weronika from Hala Koszyki’s invitation to see the new space. The location immediately spoke to us. It’s a space that combines what we love most—historic, old structures with brutalist architecture, hiding a cherry on top in the form of a hidden patio, where old Warsaw meets the new. We knew right away that we wanted to sit here for dinner in the summer,” says Katarzyna Błońska.

The restaurateurs entrusted the unique interior design to the renowned Łoskiewicz Studio, which will seamlessly reflect the latest design trends. The space will feature custom-designed furniture inspired by the original early 20th-century architecture of Hala Koszyki, as well as icons of global and Polish design. The entire interior is meant to create an exceptional atmosphere that will delight guests and make every visit a memorable experience. The venue will span over 200 square meters and will include an exclusive outdoor area that has not been accessible to Koszyki’s guests until now. All this, right in the heart of Śródmieście Południowe!

“A restaurant is above all its team, so we’re thrilled to announce that Janek Kilański will be joining us as Head Chef. With extensive experience in restaurants in Spain and Denmark, as well as running his own venues in Gdynia, cooking for him is a way to express himself and tell stories through flavor. We still have a lot of work ahead, including our biggest challenge: building an excellent, cohesive team. But so far, everything is moving in the right direction,” says Tomasz Czudowski.

The new restaurant perfectly aligns with the strategy of Hala Koszyki—a vibrant place where culinary and aesthetic experiences meet opportunities to participate in various cultural and social events. “Koszyki” is synonymous with high quality and a home to outstanding culinary concepts and renowned names in the gastronomy world. This group will be joined by a new restaurant in mid-2025.

“We’re eagerly anticipating the opening of the new gastronomic concept at ‘Koszyki’, especially with such talented restaurant owners who have maintained an outstanding reputation for over 15 years. Working with experienced restaurateurs and anchoring Hala Koszyki’s offering in high-quality cuisine, spaces, and events is a core part of the first Polish food hall’s strategy. The trust of alewino’s founders confirms Hala Koszyki’s standing, which for the past eight years has welcomed food lovers and remained a favorite meeting place for Varsovians. Kasia and Tomek’s signature approach to cuisine and the extraordinary design will undoubtedly win the hearts of our guests,” says Weronika Maria Kuna, MRICS, Asset Management and Leasing Manager, Globalworth Poland.

Hala Koszyki was built over 100 years ago on Koszykowa Street in Warsaw on the site of the former Koszyki farm. Designed in Art Nouveau style by architect Juliusz Dzierżanowski, it only returned to the city map in the fall of 2016 as a unique social and culinary destination, where one can dine in a dozen restaurants and bars or purchase groceries to take home. The complex includes 16,000 sqm of office space and 6,500 sqm of retail space. Hala Koszyki is owned and managed by Globalworth. www.koszyki.com
