Hala Koszyki Going Even Greener

The most popular Warsaw food hall has received an update to its BREEAM environmental certificate, reaching the Excellent level. As a result, Hala Koszyki is now among the select group of the most environmentally friendly multifunctional buildings in Warsaw.

Until now, Hala Koszyki had proudly held a BREEAM In-Use certificate at the Very Good level. The new Excellent rating is the result of implementing a series of changes, primarily in management, making the building even more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Considering the specific nature of Hala Koszyki, a historic multifunctional facility with relatively small volume, achieving this rating is a significant accomplishment, primarily made possible by the highest level of facility management. A higher BREEAM rating also means that Hala has become more environmentally friendly than most similar competitive facilities, often newer, which is a source of pride for us.
Maciej Kamiński, Head of Property & Facility Management at Globalworth Poland, the owner and manager of Hala Koszyki.

Thanks to the certification update, Hala Koszyki has joined the broad range of Globalworth buildings with an Excellent BREEAM certification level, including Warsaw Trade Tower, Spektrum Tower, Skylight & Lumen in Warsaw, Renoma, Retro Office House, West Link, and West Gate in Wrocław, Supersam, Silesia Star, and A4 Business Park in Katowice, Lubicz Park, Quattro Business Park, and Rondo Business Park in Krakow, as well as Tryton Business House in Gdańsk.

BREEAM In-Use is a multi-criteria certification system designed for existing buildings in use for a minimum of 2 years. The certification assesses both environmentally-friendly solutions applied in the building and the efficiency of facility management. Factors considered include indoor environmental quality, energy efficiency, access to public transportation, building materials used, facility management, as well as water and waste management.
