Globalworth Foundation supports the exhibition and film "A Postcard from the Uprising."

Thanks to the support of the Globalworth Foundation, starting from August 11th, visitors can experience an extraordinary exhibition and VR film called “A Postcard from the Uprising” in Warsaw’s Hala Koszyki. This event is organized by Studio VRheroes and the Arte et Marte Foundation. Admission is free from Monday to Friday between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

The exhibition is centered around the film “A Postcard from the Uprising – Virtual Reality Exhibition,” which is the first narrative historical spectacle in Poland created using virtual reality (VR) technology.

The film transports us to Warsaw in August 1944, allowing us to follow the story of one of the Warsaw Uprising soldiers, Captain Władysław Sieroszewski, known as “Sabała,” whose life was saved by a letter from his daughter. Through the VR experience, viewers will have a tangible sense of depth, distance, and immersive 360-degree ambisonic sound, enhancing the realism and the feeling of participating in the historical events portrayed on the screen. Viewers become a part of the fight for freedom alongside the Warsaw Uprising fighters.

“A Postcard from the Uprising – Virtual Reality Exhibition” not only utilizes modern storytelling methods through VR technology but also includes an artistic installation composed of hundreds of postcards directed towards the sky. These postcards symbolize unspoken wishes and dreams that vanished together with the soldiers lives.

The exhibition "A Postcard from the Uprising - Virtual Reality" plays a significant role in educating and promoting knowledge about Warsaw's historical heritage, especially at a time when many institutions are embracing digitalization. Schools and educators can utilize the exhibition as part of a wide range of educational opportunities, engaging in the most technologically advanced experiences available today. Thanks to the support provided by the Globalworth Foundation, it has become possible to offer the exhibition to visitors at no cost during specific hours, providing access to this exceptional showcase.
Georgiana Iliescu, Director of the Globalworth Foundation
Thanks to "A Postcard from the Uprising," we no longer need to imagine what we would do if we lived in those times. We feel our physical presence in that time and place, which - with the right sensitivity - allows us to feel the choices we could make. When watching a partisan battle scene, do we feel the urge to hide or join the fight? When seeing Warsaw destroyed by war, do we feel sadness or anger? Because VR can trick the human brain into a sense of presence in a specific location, we can get closer to answering these questions.
Tomasz Dobosz, the director of the film "A Postcard from the Uprising,"

The exhibition will be open to visitors from August 1, 2021, to July 20, 2022, in Hala Koszyki in Warsaw. It will be accessible on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, free of charge, without the need for prior reservations. The show is suitable for viewers aged 12 and above. In the case of groups exceeding 10 people, participation interest should be communicated via email to grupy@arteetmarte.org.

All COVID-19 safety measures, such as equipment disinfection and the use of protective masks, will be in place during the presentations.
