Midnight Concerts | Klasyka na Koszykach | The Grand Finale of the 8th Edition

This time, on Wednesday – June 18 at 8:00 PM, the Koszyki Hall will be filled with the sound of 50 voices!

On this special occasion, we’ll be hosting the Masterwork Chorus – one of the largest and most renowned choirs from the New York City area! 🗽

Their performance at the Midnight Concert will kick off the choir’s concert tour across Poland, organized in celebration of the ensemble’s 70th anniversary. The conductor, Marcin Sędek, was born in Poland and has lived in New York for the past 20 years, where he works as a choral and orchestral conductor, pianist, and composer. He created this tour to introduce his home country to the singers — together, they will perform in Warsaw, Kraków, and Gdańsk🎼

Masterwork Chorus will perform a collection of Polish military songs compiled by composer Derek Myler during his two-year stay in Poland, spent among families affected by the tragedies of war. The program will include, among others: My, Pierwsza Brygada, Modlitwa obozowa, and Rozszumiały się wierzby płaczące.

The ensemble will also present works by renowned American composers, African American spirituals, and specially arranged choral adaptations of compositions by Fryderyk Chopin. They will be accompanied on the piano by Carol Walker🎹
