We invite everyone to Africa, specifically to Angola, where the beautiful and sensual kizomba dance is performed. Karolina and Łukasz, the Vamula team, will introduce you to the beauty of this Angolan, modern social dance that is conquering the world while still thriving in the main cities of Angola, such as Luanda, Benguela, and Malanje. Kizomba is the “daughter” of semba, but what sets it apart is the close connection between partners and its unique character, which has made it beloved worldwide. As Vamula values dancing in its “original” form, respecting the culture and music of the countries it originates from, you can expect to experience the true spirit of Angolan Kizomba.

A few words about us: Karolina and Łukasz, known as VAMULA, have been dancing together since 2008. Before discovering the styles they now teach, Łukasz practiced ballroom dancing, while Karolina specialized in samba. Their kizomba journey began in 2009 in Warsaw, at the first school in Poland to teach this dance—Montuno Aye—and under the guidance of world-class instructors. Their dance development has been influenced by Paulo Cruz & Lanna Zamora, Bonifácio Mario Aurio, Gregorio Pires, Dúnia Pacheco, and the group Os Tukina. In 2014, 2015, and 2018, they trained musically and in dance on the Cape Verde Islands and in Angola. For several years, they have been official “Angolan Ambassadors,” part of a global network of promoters and teachers of kizomba through the “Angolan Dances” organization. In 2014, they made history as the first Polish kizomba couple to reach the finals of the “Áfricadançar – 7th edition Kizomba International Championship” in Milan, placing 8th in the world. Currently, they conduct regular kizomba and semba courses in Warsaw, as well as numerous workshops both in Poland and abroad. They have performed at kizomba festivals in over 10 countries, including Cape Verde, Portugal, France, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Italy, Belgium, the Czech Republic, and Lithuania. Vamula is a project born out of a “passion for dance” by people who understand, love, and want to share their best with others. Vamula prioritizes dancing in its original form, respecting the culture and music of the countries where it originates.
See you there!
