Electro Classic | DOWLAND ELECTRIC
XVI-century songs arranged for amplified voice and electric guitar—sounds intriguing, doesn’t it?

Join us for the summer Midnight Concerts – Electro Classic, where you’ll have the chance to explore unconventional musical offerings!

On September 4th at 9:00 PM, on the mezzanine of Hala Koszyki, the artists will present the DOWLAND ELECTRIC project. The creators and performers are:

The DOWLAND ELECTRIC project is a tribute to the songcraft of English composer John Dowland, who composed at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries
. The artists reinterpret his songs in terms of lyrics, vocals, and instrumentation. Instead of the traditional voice and lute compositions, you’ll have the opportunity to hear versions arranged for electric guitar and voice
.

Bringing courtly songs into the realm of contemporary life might raise some concerns about straying from traditional performance practices. However, this concept does not negate the value of the original but rather seeks to find new shades of interpretation that may inspire listeners to explore the composer’s original legacy
.

We warmly invite you!
