The Premiere of Sokołowski’s Album ‘Such as Me’ and the Vernissage of Grzegorz Skawiński’s Painting Exhibition, along with the Start of a Charity Auction for the Anna Dymna Despite Everything Foundation!

Krzysiek Sokołowski, known as the vocalist of Nocny Kochanek, has decided to show his audience his second face. The artist announces the album ‘Such as Me,’ which marks the beginning of his solo career under the label SOKOŁOWSKI. The album cover was interpreted and painted by Grzegorz Skawiński (KOMBII), and his painting will be auctioned, with the proceeds going to the Anna Dymna Despite Everything Foundation! The album will be released on the market by the e-Muzyka publishing house! The album premiere will take place on January 19, 2024, and will be accompanied by a special event at Hala Koszyki in Warsaw on the same day at 7:00 PM. SOKOŁOWSKI’s new material is also a departure from the image of a jester that accompanied the artist in recent years. The photo on the album cover is a reference to the famous painting by Jan Matejko, ‘Stańczyk,’ symbolizing Sokołowski’s alter ego. With the occasion of Matejko and ‘Stańczyk,’ an unusual idea was born to create a painting based on the cover graphic, promoting the album ‘Such as Me’ for the premiere. The painting, which would be an interpretation of the album cover. Grzegorz Skawiński (KOMBII), a musician, composer, vocalist, lyricist, guitarist, and music producer, but also an artist-painter, took on the task of painting the work. Skawiński’s painting is metaphysical, filled with allegories and many implications. The artist refers to emotions related to existential anxiety, and the juxtaposition of dark motifs with sharp, almost psychedelic colors produces a very interesting effect. The painting created by Grzegorz is his interpretation of the album cover and was created after listening to Sokołowski’s album ‘Such as Me.’ The vernissage of the painting exhibition by Grzegorz Skawiński will take place on the day of the album release, i.e., January 19, 2024, at Hala Koszyki in Warsaw, and the artwork will remain there until January 29, 2024. During the event, starting on January 19 at 7:00 PM at Hala Koszyki on Koszykowa Street in Warsaw, an auction of the painting will be inaugurated, which will last for the next 10 days on Allegro Charytatywni and will end on January 29. All interested parties will have the opportunity to participate in the event and the auction of Grzegorz Skawiński’s painting, painted on the occasion of the premiere of Sokołowski’s album ‘Such as Me.’ The entire proceeds generated during the auction will be donated to the Anna Dymna Despite Everything Foundation and will be allocated to the construction of a recreational center in Lubiatowo. During the vernissage, Sokołowski will perform several of his songs for the first time, taken from the album ‘Such as Me.’
